Nancy Gibson has been practicing law in Missoula, Montana since 1985. She attained her undergraduate and law degrees at The University of Montana. Ms. Gibson works locally, state-wide, and nationally to address legal issues of the elderly and persons with disabilities. Ms. Gibson is the only Montana member of the Special Needs Alliance, a nationwide network of disability law attorneys who specialize in special needs trust planning. Every year, she attends several national conferences and meetings that provide cutting-edge information on the best means of accomplishing these goals. Ms. Gibson provides legal services to clients who live throughout Montana through her specialization in elder and disability law. Her practice includes preparation of wills and trusts, including special needs trusts; assisting clients with asset preservation and long term care issues, including Medicaid issues; advising clients on public benefits eligibility, particularly in the context of settlements and inheritances; administration of estates and trusts; guardianship; conservatorship, and other protective arrangements. She takes pride in assisting people of all income and asset levels, and enjoys helping families to best provide for the future care of their elderly and disabled loved ones.
Barbara Rolf is employed as an Outreach Vision Consultant with the Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind. She has been in this position for approximately the past ten years. Barbara works as a consultant for children with visual impairments through 21 years of age throughout western Montana specializing in the areas of braille, orientation and mobility and technology for the blind. Barbara is a licensed K-12 teacher in the State of Montana. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1997 and holds her MA degree in special education with emphasis as a teacher of the visually impaired. She is also a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals. Barbara's daughter, Katie has been blind since birth. Katie is now twenty-one years old. Barbara believes that being a pro-active parent who knows the responsibilities surrounding the raising of a child who is blind plays an important role. This assists to provide significant knowledge to both parents and service providers to get the best possible services and programs for their child or student with disabilities. The combination of being both a professional and a parent of a daughter with disabilities has meant that she has worked within all educational parameters and this has given Barb unique insights into the world of special education and visual impairment.
Joyce Shepard is a Montana native with 35 years experience in insurance and financial planning, recently retired from a cattle, sheep, and hay operation in Frenchtown MT near Missoula. She is the parent of two sons, a daughter Megan, 21, with special needs, and 4 grandchildren.
